使用mid2bms制作keysound教程

Using mid2bms to create midi keysound

Software used:

Samplitude, mid2bms, noteart, ibmsc, foobar2000.

Please refer to the tutorial to make midi keysound in DAW, and this article is about batch creating midi keysounds using mid2bms.

Prerequisite:

1. You know how to use a DAW(I am using samplitude)

2. You have your own midi soundfont/sound source. (I am using independence)

3. You already have a midi for the song.(I transcribe myself)

4. In order to make your keysound sounds good you need to get rid of the background instruments. You need to have lossless file of the original song and the instrumental version. Any kind of non-lossless will NOT work. If you don't have lossless source, turn down the volume of mp3 a little bit.

Attention! Note arrangement is same sound same lane. You need to arrange the chart afterwards.

Instruction

00:00-01:30 Cancel out the background instruments and get main .wav file.

02:50-04:05 Copy all drum midi notes to new midi object to prepare single-instrument midi for mid2bms input.

04:05-05:10 Add drum sound source. Adjust volume. Export midi(You need to check export tempo map)

05:15-06:00 Using mid2bms. We are dealing with drums so you need to check the "drums". As a result, all same drums will be on same lane(bass note one lane, snare one lane, etc)

06:00-07:20 Import the "text3_tanon_smf_blue.mid" into samplitude. Export the actual keysound wav file that need to be cut.

07:20-08:20 "text6_bms_blue.txt" is the bms file. Change the filename and drag it into a bms editor(I'm using ibmsc).

08:20-16:30 Don't forget to add main .wav file into bms

Arranging drum notes You can jump this section

16:30-17:30 Copy electric guitar notes to new midi object.

17:30-18:20 Add electric guitar source.

18:20-19:00 Add electric guitar amp(vandal). Export midi.

19:00-22:40 Using mid2bms. Don't forget to press the arrow besides "vacant wavid". You can't start from 01 since drum keysound will be overiden

Others similar to the drums. This time you don't need to check the “drums" You can jump this section

22:40-22:58 Open the new "text6_bms_blue.txt" and the previous bms file(with drums), append the wav definition part to bms file.

22:58-23:14 Append the note data from "text6_bms_blue.txt" to bms file.

23:14-23:35 Open the bms file using bms editor. We can see all the guitar keysound is on one lane in bgm.

If you want to add more instruments, just follow the procedure above.

24:50-26:30 Convert wav to ogg. Also I used replaygain to adjust the volume.

26:30-26:55 Replace all ".wav" with ".ogg" in bms file.

28:00-end Malody auto.

The lag after 32 minutes is due to computer overheat.
