Welcome to the new generation of Malody. Before playing, please read the FAQs:
1. Can I use skins in the new version?
Answer: Malody V is a fully rebuilt game with only the essential principles inherited from the original game. It is internally designed to support a more flexible skin system for the future, so it will have compatibility with old skins in the future, but 100% compatibility is not guaranteed.
2. Why can't I download any charts in new version?
Answer: Malody V moves its focus onto the game client itself as a emulator and the player community. In considerations of copyright issues, the chart store from 4.0 where you can upload charts freely is removed.
In compensation, Malody V now supports a Store API (https://gitlab.com/mugzone_team/malody_store_api). Players can setup their own chart server based on the API, and support uploading, downloading, and playlist features according to the API document. You can drop into any private server simply by entering the server address in the settings of the game client.
3. Does Judgement has any difference between the new version and the old version?
Answer: In the old version, the judge timing is different on PC vs on mobile. The PC judge timing is relatively tighter, and the mobile one is looser. But considering that more and more mobile devices support external keyboards, plus, some PCs also have touch screens, this strategy on differentiating judge timing on different platforms are still inbalanced. Therefore, on Malody V, the default judge timing for all platforms will be the same as the mobile timing from the old version. The rank board will be sharing the old mobile one as well.
For challenger, we now provide an option called "Pro Judge" for all platforms. This option enables the PC judge timing from the old version, and uses the same rank board with the old PC one. At the same time, the old "PC" rank board will be renamed to "Pro" to reflect this change.
4. Why can't I upload scores
Answer: The RC1 version is in a public testing stage, so the score uploading will be disabled to avoid any faulty results from being recorded.
5. Why only some modes can be played
Answer: In order to ensure that each mode is fully tested, the RC version will open the modes one by one. The RC 1 version only opens the Key mode and Key Editor.
6. Why can't my computer run the new version
Answer: Malody V uses a brand new game engine, so the minimum requirements for the device are higher than the old version. PC platform requires Windows 10, 64bit version. The mobile platform requires iOS 11+ and Android 5.0+.
On the performance side, devices that can run the old version smoothly may not have the same performance as the new version. We are aware of this issue, and are still optimizing the performance for future releases.
7. How to report a bug
Answer: Please go to the official bug report website: https://gitlab.com/mugzone_team/malody_report/-/issues to submit a detailed description of the bug.
For us to locate and fix it faster, please try to provide the scene that appeared at that time, reproduce steps, screenshots, your hardware spec, and other information you found suspicious around the bug.
8. Where will the release version be available?
Answer: The final release version will be available on AppStore, GooglePlay, and Steam. The official website no longer provides download links of the release versions.
