Schedule

Phase 1: Creative Stage

Duration (UTC+0): 12:00 June 13, 2024 - 12:00 June 26, 2024

The organizers announce the subject song, as well as the audio source (.ogg) and template chart (.mc).

Participants will download the template chart (.mc) and create it using Malody's in-game editor.

Instructions for creation: ====

  • 1. Please use the "Create new chart" instead of changing the template, and delete the template as soon as possible to avoid sending the wrong template to organizer.
  • 2. Version and creator entries are not required as they will be coded for subsequent evaluation, so they can be left blank or defaulted.
  • 3. Difficulty range is recommended to be within Lv.18-38 (Stable Difficulty System), judges may be biased if the difficulty is too high or too low.
  • 4. Please do not change the audio and background image used in the template, as unauthorized changes will prevent the chart from being read properly in subsequent stages.

When the composition is completed, please use the email address to transfer the score file to the organizer (see the Submission entry for details).

During the campaign period, all charts on the subject song page except those uploaded by the publisher or organizer will be deleted.

NOTE: Please do not let anyone else know about the chart you have created until the results are posted.

Phase 2: Preview Stage

Duration (UTC+0): 12:00 June 26, 2024 - 12:00 July 1, 2024

All charts will be given to a preliminary panel of 6 judges to vote on whether or not they will make it to the scoring stage.

During this phase, each chart will be assigned to three random judges in the preliminary panel for preview votes, and only one vote from any of the judges is required to advance to the scoring stage.

The results of the preview stage will be released prior to the scoring stage, so keep an eye on the contest results page at that time.

NOTE: For those who have entered the scoring stage, please do not let anyone else know what you have created. Charts that do not make it to the scoring stage will be unanonymized and moved to the original author's uid.

Scoring

Methods of evaluation and settlement

Entries are given a score by the judges in each of the four categories of Placement & Accuracy, Pattern & Arrangement, Structure & Consistency, and Expression & Impression. The final score of a single judge is taken as the weighted average of the four scores, and the total score is taken as the average of the final scores of all judges, retaining one decimal place.

Scoring Rules

Placement & Accuracy Scratch (100 total points, 25% weighting)

Whether the scratching of the chart is appropriate or not, whether the alignment is rigorous or not, whether the selection of musical elements is reasonable or not, whether the expression of the elements is reasonable or not;

Pattern & Arrangement (total score 100, weighting 25%)

Whether the arrangement of the chart is appropriate for the performance of melodic, percussion or harmonic instruments, visually pleasing and comfortable to the touch;

Structure & Consistency (total score 100, weighting 25%)

Whether there is an obvious design in the structure of the chart, whether it builds a difficulty curve that meets the requirements of the game level, and a flow of emotion that fits the music;

Expression & Impression (total score of 100, weighting 25%)

Whether the chart possesses features or highlights, and whether it builds on fun, gameplay, creativity, or artistry, and whether it impresses the player.

Example 1:

Mike gives the following scores: 70 points for Placement & Accuracy, 90 points for Pattern & Arrangement, 65 points for Structure & Consistency, and 30 points for Expression & Impression;

Therefore, Mike's final score is (70+90+65+30)/4=63.75

Example 2:
