The 10th Marlo Cup Mapping Contest(Ring)

RESULT

Champion

Chart 1A

Mapper:tkdkendo

Final Score:7.71

Opinion:

Not bad

Generally playable, 42 and similar points somehow feel weird even if I understood what they were following.132~180 might be a bit too easy.

better to consider back sound at high point

good chart

Second Place

Chart 2C

Mapper:Elaina-

Final Score:7.64

Opinion:

Very good

I do not understand the intention of the simultaneous pressing in the chorus.

Generally nice rhythm, the jacks like 109 may not be necessary but it's still acceptable. 1/4 stream placements like 95~104 and 260~268 can try changing into 3 notes in a group (or else other than 4 notes in a group) to present some variation. 168~192 very pleasing.

many meaningful placement but a little room for improvement

Third Place

Chart 1G

Mapper:Kureyu

Final Score:7.18

Opinion:

I don't think there is anything noticeably wrong with it. It is a good chart. If I had to say, I might not want to place a double tap on 76-99 in this pattern.

I understand the intention of simultaneous pressing in a quiet place, but I think it was not necessary to press simultaneously.

68~132 too easy, not really much to complain for other parts.

indecisve notes placement at still part

68~131: You should be clear about what sound you are following.

Awesome Competitors

Chart 1B

Mapper:MusicFB

Final Score:5.64

Opinion:

Overmap

Considerable overmap

Not really playable for thumbs, patterns like 194 are not strictly forbidden, though, most of them here feel quite unnecessary. Rhythm like 41~43 are unintuitive.

overmap and lack of consistency

I think patterns like 194 and 211 are too difficult.

Chart 1C

Mapper:kira0728

Final Score:6.11

Opinion:

This chart has many unnecessary notes. There are many places where notes should be added. Anyway, the author of this chart should listen to the music carefully.

Although the note arrangement looks nice, the rhythm is not so satisfying in some parts. 200:0/4 and 208:0/4 etc. are following nothing in the music. 84~128 can try following instrument like 68 and 76. 226: Why?

ghost notes and room for improvement in LN pattern

The first half was good, but in the second half it would be good to clarify what instrument you are taking the sound from.

Chart 1D

Mapper:Zero__wind

Final Score:4.86

Opinion:

Even if you try not to think about the gimmick for once, 4-19 places too many notes. I personally don't dislike it, but I can't rate this. I'm sorry.

nice SV!

It's an interesting gimmick

meaningless SV (for waching)

SV is not good

Chart 1E

Mapper:Yukkuri

Final Score:6.34

Opinion:

It bothers me that you place notes at 45 and 66 but not at 42, 50, etc. Also, 91:0/4 should probably be placed at 90:2/4. Also, the pattern for 132-191 seems to be different from my idea.

I think most piano sounds are twenty-fourth note

Good placement of notes in a quiet place

Rhythm in 44~46 and similar parts plays uncomfortable. Some specific note arrangements such as 148~156 and 180~187 don't match with the music well imo.

Chart 1F

Mapper:woshihuchengke

Final Score:5.34

Opinion:

The starting ideas aren't too bad, but 132-163 feels too trite; 164-191 seems to have more notes throughout, but I didn't think these were placed to match the sound. This part is very disappointing.

it is not good to put long notes that are only 1/4 apart in a row because it lacks visibility.

Poor ballance between different parts. Generally dumb and irregular note arrangements, 132~192 especially boring. 194? too difficult.

too monotonous placement from 133 to 163

Chart 2A

Mapper:koggys

Final Score:6.86

Opinion:

Mini jacks like 52-53 or 96-98 would not be a good idea. Other parts of the system that are arranged this way should be separated into left and right. Other than that, SV would be better if it didn't exist. Very regrettable chart.

The feeling of playing was good

Symmetry patterns too boring, Note arrangements like 52~53 are very confusing.

well designed map and interesting one-hand placement

Chart 2B

Mapper:XiaoLongBao

Final Score:7.12

Opinion:

I think 4-19 should be placed in the same lane since they have the same scale. Also, there is no need to reduce the difficulty of 236-251. It's a pity that the chart is so quiet when the music is so exciting. I believe this is the same for 40-71.

This map is the chapion in my mind

I like the chorus part very much

Note arrangements at 20~28 and 184~192 are impressive. Somehow the rhythm consistency at 70:3/4+71:0/4 and similar points is questionable. Also it's a bit weird to set an easy part at 236~252.

some ghost notes lack of consistency of LN

It is uncomfortable to have different instrumental sounds taken in the first and second half of the same part.
